Press Windows + X → select “Disk Management.”
(You can also search for Create and format hard disk partitions.)
In the list of drives, locate your secondary drive — usually labeled as Disk 1, Disk 2, etc.
⚠️ Make sure you do NOT select Disk 0 — that’s normally your main system drive (C:).
Right-click the partitions on your secondary drive → select Format.
Choose NTFS or exFAT as the file system.
Give it a Volume Label (e.g., “DATA” or “STORAGE”).
Uncheck Quick Format if you want a full format (slower but cleaner).
Click OK to start formatting.
The drive will be erased, but your C: drive (Windows) remains safe.
